Thassiane Gossler joined Oziel Law in 2018, where she works with the firm’s clients on a broad array of corporate/commercial law matters, business transactions and trademark issues. In particular, Thassiane has assisted several companies with their startup requirements from formation to full operation, working on their incorporation, contracts and brand protection matters.
As a result of her international legal experience, Thassiane has also developed an understanding of the structures available for foreign startups expanding their businesses to Canada. Being also qualified as a Brazilian lawyer, she works closely with accelerators and business associations promoting the commercial relations between Brazil and Canada and has been regularly invited to speak at events for the international startup community.
Thassiane holds a Master of Laws degree from Western University, where she was awarded a full scholarship to research international taxation law, and an LL.M. degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in Canadian Common Law. Before starting her legal career in Ontario, Thassiane served as a judicial law clerk to the judges of the State’s Court of Appeal in Brazil, where she was routinely engaged in all aspects of appeal proceedings, working on wide-ranging civil and commercial disputes.
