Thassiane Gossler

Thassiane Gossler is a business and technology lawyer who partners with startups and growth-oriented companies from inception to exit. She has a broad range of expertise in corporate matters, including formation, financing deals, reorganizations and M&A. Her experience spans various industries, including gaming, mobile and web applications, social media, fintech, healthtech, and e-commerce, allowing her to provide tailored solutions to meet the specific needs of each client.

Thassiane has experience advising founders and investors on seed-stage financing structures, such as SAFEs, convertible notes, and preferred shares. Additionally, Thassiane is skilled in drafting and negotiating technology contracts and IP agreements, including licenses, service agreements, software as a service agreement, terms of use, and privacy policies.

Being a dual-qualified lawyer in Ontario and Brazil, Thassiane also assists foreign startups looking to expand their businesses to Canada. Her understanding of foreign startup structures and her work promoting commercial relations between Brazil and Canada through her involvement with accelerators and business associations make her a valuable resource for any company looking to grow its business in new markets.

Thassiane holds a Master of Laws degree from Western University, where she received a full scholarship to research international taxation law, and an LL.M. degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in Canadian Common Law. Prior to her legal career in Ontario, Thassiane served as a judicial law clerk to the judges of the State’s Court of Appeal in Brazil, where she gained invaluable experience working on a wide range of civil and commercial disputes.

In her free time, Thassiane enjoys staying active through hiking and yoga, often with her faithful companion, a pug named Sophie. When not exploring the outdoors or on her mat, she enjoys curling up with a good book, always on the lookout for new authors and stories to discover.
