At Oziel Law, Arif focuses on corporate/commercial law matters, business transactions, securities, and intellectual property law matters in addition to the firm’s organizational tasks. Before joining Oziel Law, he worked for one of the top five banks in Canada and completed his internship at a busy securities law firm while he was pursuing LL.M at Osgoode Hall Law School. Before completing his LL.M from Osgoode, he obtained Master of Laws in International Trade Law from Northumbria University, UK.
In his home jurisdiction he is qualified to practice at the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh where he practiced banking and international finances, foreign investments, mergers and acquisitions, power and energy, infrastructure, international arbitration, and litigation. Coming from a growing economy, he had numerous opportunities to work with many leading international conglomerates and law firms. He played a major role in some of the milestone infrastructure and power projects in Bangladesh.
Back home, he was heavily involved in charitable activities for the education and health sectors and provided pro-bono legal services to those organizations. Besides his legal work, Arif enjoys playing bass, driving, cooking, cycling, canoeing, hiking, gadgets and socializing.
