Ella is joining the firm as a Summer Student, bringing a strong foundation in legal research, policy analysis, and advocacy developed through both academic and professional experiences.
She is currently pursuing her Juris Doctor at the University of Ottawa. During law school, she interned with Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, where she contributed to legal work supporting Canada’s innovation ecosystem. Prior to joining Oziel Law, Ella worked as a Research Assistant at the Schwartz-Reisman Institute for Technology and Society, with a focus on the emerging threats to privacy and democracy posed by artificial intelligence technologies.
Before entering law school, Ella completed a double major in Industrial Relations and Human Resources, and Ethics, Society and Law at the University of Toronto. Her interdisciplinary academic background informs her strong interest in the legal needs of startups and the rapidly evolving tech sector.
Outside of work, Ella enjoys exploring different neighbourhoods on foot and is always looking to take on new hobbies—her most recent endeavor is vegetable gardening.
